In Incident Insight, we offer a range of elements to help you build out the most effective investigation possible. We understand that businesses use a range of different investigation techniques and support this entirely, as one fixed solution for all is often not the case.
Introducing our ‘New Object’ element, an Object is the item, system, or person that is exposed to the Agent of Change and therefore suffers (or could suffer) the consequence.
A ‘New Object’ element allows you to align with some investigation methodologies that help with understanding and mapping out larger incidents, with multiple initiating events.
Step 1: Start by dragging an element into the diagram building space. In this simple example, we have plotted out a ‘New Event’ and a ‘New Consequence’. Once you have identified where the ‘New Object’ falls within the timeline, drag and drop within the black dashed lines. ‘New Object’ can only be applied to ‘New Threat’, ‘New Consequence’ and ‘New Event’.

Step 2: Once in place you can start further building out the investigation, adding a ‘New Barrier’ /s and conducting a root cause analyse.
